About water

Last weekend, your humble servant attended the first part of the training “Functional Anatomy of Prana. The Power of Hatha Kriya Yoga.” The teacher from Canada Laurier Pierre Desjardins is a doctor, an osteopath, a thirty-year-old yogi. Inimitable storyteller and a very bright person. It is absolutely exciting to talk about the human body, starting from the smallest cell to complex organ systems and their interactions … A lot of discoveries have come from these three days! I wanted to share information about water.

As you know, about 70-80 percent of a person consists of water. We remember this from school times. Where is this water located in us? – In cells, in all tissues, in blood and other fluids. Water is the medium in which all our nutrients, oxygen, and toxins are transported through our bodies. Water, which is important, contributes to a better current of prana, vital energy, because energy, like water, is a fluid, mobile substance.

Studies were conducted that revealed that 80% of the population of the Western world is in a state of constant dehydration without noticing it .. Not noticing until some unpleasant chronic disease occurs. Again, a direct relationship was found between chronic diseases and inadequate hydration. Pierre talked about the Iranian doctor who went to prison and treated prisoners with water ulcers! and it helped!

Think about it: man is the only mammal that, after breast milk, drinks anything other than water. Coffee, tea, beer, lemonade are, of course, liquids, but not a substitute for water. Moreover, after drinking coffee (which has a diuretic effect), you, sorry, pee more than you drink. That is, each coffee mug dehydrates you even more. This applies to all non-water drinks. With a creak, you can still count some herbal decoctions as the closest analogue of water.

Alas, we have gone so far from nature that we have already stopped drinking water and noticing .. natural thirst. This is because the receptors responsible for the state of true thirst (when the body feels that it is dehydrated) are suppressed over time.

However, there is good news – it is in our power to restore water balance, if we make it a rule to drink a glass of water per 9 kg of weight per day. For the average person, this will just give the notorious 1.5-2 liters, advised by nutritionists. After 3 months of REGULAR, DAILY consumption of the right amount of water, the necessary natural water balance is restored at the cellular level. And … the reflex of natural thirst returns!

The smart developers of applications for phones have succeeded here – there are various applications for iPhones and Androids that help you keep track of how much you drink (in case you need it in order to discipline and start drinking water). Very often they ask me for advice – but what if I’m not used to it, I don’t like it, don’t like to drink water. In southern countries, drinking water seems more natural than in our cold northern regions … In such cases, I usually advise:

– First of all, to penetrate, what tremendous benefit you bring yourself in the long run, because it is better to drink a glass of water than a bitter medicine, right? Speaking of drugs. For their best effect and minimization of side effects on the mucous membranes – they need to be washed with WATER, a full glass, and preferably more 🙂 so, we have believed that drinking water is good.

Now it remains to include awareness and discipline. You can buy a beautiful decanter and put it at home on a coffee table or workplace. You can buy yourself a beautiful crystal glass or a glass for water, in which it will look especially clean and tasty 🙂

You can put a reminder on your phone every 2.5 hours – Drink some water!

It is best to drink water at room temperature, not too cold or hot.

It’s best to stretch your 1.5 -2 liters all day, then drinking will not turn into torture 🙂

Water quality matters – the best water, of course, spring water. If you do not have access to spring water, it can be purchased or filtered (it makes sense to buy a better and more expensive filter system). You can sing mantras and prayers above the water, say good words to her, dance with a tambourine, do anything, most importantly, DRINK her! And the most important advice – if there is no good water – ANYWHERE! any water is much better than its complete absence 🙂

Be healthy and happy!
