Irina describes her experiences after two sessions of yoga nidra.
“Nidra, as I understand it, is staying in a state between sleep and reality, wandering in the back streets of the subconscious. For two times I was “abused” ad libitum. It’s hard to describe, as if you were watching some incoherent film. Some “frames” are remembered, but somehow fragmentary, there is no logic (as in a dream).
After the first session, there was a feeling of amazing ease-openness in the body. It seemed that if I stood on the scales, it would turn out that I felt better by a few kilograms. It seemed very important to realize and feel the relaxation of the skin. It seems to me that this is a very significant moment in this practice and he needs to consciously learn (I, as is often the case with beginners, accidentally).
After the second session, there was no such condition. It seems to me that the second time I often fell into oblivion, briefly, but fell asleep.
In both sessions, at some stage (approximately in the middle of the session), a short, but very noticeable vibration began in the whole body. It seems to me that this is some turning point, something important is happening, but so far it is not clear what exactly.
Both times, at some point, the body seemed lead-heavy, superfluous. I wanted to somehow drop it or leave it.
By the end of the session it was getting cold, maybe this is some kind of individual reaction, I generally freeze easily.
In general, the practice of nidra is very interesting to me, you get to know yourself better, you discover something deeply hidden inside you, you add puzzles. ”
A small comment on my part – with a very deep relaxation, you can really freeze. Therefore, going to yoga nidra, you need to take care of warm socks, a jacket.
Tatyana shares her experience in yoga nidra. By the time she tried yoga nidra on herself, she had already practiced yoga for about 3 years.

But you won’t throw the regularity of practice out of the window – the nidra began to open slightly from the inside, like a tender lotus at the dawn of a new day. And I want to try again, again … I admit, I look forward to “voice sessions”, because after them I go out really rested, with a completely different mood of consciousness – as if you began to breathe deeply after-life air, still moist, but so sweet, so fragrant, fresh …. Anxiety, as a result of stress, also began to recede. I decided in advance for myself that Nidra is a universal panacea for everything. Thanks to the Creation that the ancients gave it to us, and the wise made it available today. ”
Yes, indeed, the practice of lucid sleep allows you to clear the deepest layers of consciousness. At the same time, relaxation has a positive effect on mental, emotional and physical health. I know of cases when yoga nidra magically helped in the restoration of a young man who was bedridden, injured in a car accident.
In the practice of yoga nidra, patience is important. It is very likely that you will not reach a special state of consciousness on the first try. Beginners often lose consciousness, many just fall asleep, but this is a good sign: it says that you are on the right track .. At some point, your dive will become deeper, perhaps only a few seconds, like a flash. Gradually, you will come to a longer state of lucid sleep.
In our, alas, not at all peaceful time, it is very important to be able to maintain peace in your soul. All the ancient and wise yogic texts for thousands of years have maintained that the world should not be sought outside, but inside man. Therefore, if we really want to live in a harmonious universe, we need to learn the art of stress relief, to understand the wise science of relaxing the body and mind. Both yoga philosophy and modern psychology distinguish three main types of stresses that draw the modern world to agony: muscle, emotional and mental. Systematic yoga nidra classes can completely eliminate them .. And every time we are sad or annoyed, we tend to look for a reason outside of us.
